Hello, I am Ana!
Ph.D Biology
Microbiology, Meta-omics
and Food Science.
I currently work as an Assistant Professor in the Area of Microbiology at the Department of Functional Biology and Health at the University of Vigo, where I combine both teaching and research activities.

I am a biologist who is deeply passionate about her work, with experience in the identification and characterization of dairy food-spoiling strains using both classical culture-based methods and molecular approaches such as genomics and proteomics. I have also worked on the characterization of functional peptides from food matrices through proteomic techniques.

At present, my main research line focuses on the study of disease conditions and their relationship with the microbiome in murine models, using genomic and proteomic approaches.
